📌 Reminder

Initiated within the framework of the law of December 28, 2015, relating to the adaptation of society to aging, intergenerational cohabitation finds its realization through the establishment of a contract for intergenerational solidarity cohabitation in the ELAN law.

What is it?

The cohabitation charter is an annex to the Intergenerational Cohabitation Contract; it is a document that has legal value under the law.

Its purpose is to allow the host to establish certain rules within their accommodation (within reason) and thus define the framework in which the cohabitation should take place.

What is its purpose?

Colette, in collaboration with its members, has created a model Cohabitation Charter, which is made available to the hosts (it is included in the first email we send to our future members, and it is possible to request it from the Colette team members if needed). The hosts have the option to supplement it with specific information about their accommodation in addition to the information it contains.

→ Here are some examples:

  • restricted or prohibited access to certain rooms in the accommodation (e.g., office)

  • specific services
