At Colette, there are two types of commission, depending on whether you are in Paris/Ile-de-France or another city:

👨🏼‍🦳 On the host's side

  • In Paris/ Ile-de-France

We take 15% of the displayed room price.

  • In other cities

Colette receives 50% of the first month's rent, corresponding to the posted price of your room on the platform. You receive this amount in full in subsequent months, without any commission.

These fees include:

  • Selection and qualification of young profiles

  • Support and advice from our team during the connection with the future tenant

  • Support on tax and administrative issues

  • Provision of a rental contract & rent receipts

  • Payment service: strict monitoring and management of rent payment every month via our secure partner Stripe

  • Monthly rent paid directly via Colette

  • Home insurance (AXA) in case of material damage during cohabitation

  • Dedicated support from customer service throughout the Colette experience

  • Mediation role during cohabitation in case of problems

👩🏽 On the young person's side

  • In Paris/ Ile-de-France

We ask for an additional €38 on top of the displayed room price.

  • In other cities

Once you have found accommodation, you only have to pay a fee of 50% of the price of your room for the first month. You pay only your rent, with no subscription or commission, in the following months.

These fees include:

  • Access to our platform and thus to a wide range of housing offers available in Paris and Île-de-France

  • Access to reliable accommodations: we verify all accommodations

  • Selection of quality hosts: we extensively engage with each host to ensure they fit the Colette community

  • A dedicated team to help young people in their housing search

  • The possibility to find and book accommodation quickly and easily: no guarantor or deposit required for registration

  • Home insurance (AXA) that covers the young person throughout their stay with Colette

  • Dedicated support from customer service throughout the Colette experience

  • Assistance with all procedures with the CAF

  • Provision of a rental contract & rent receipts

  • Mediation role during cohabitation in case of problems

Example for Paris/ IDF :

For a room listed at €500 on our site:

  • We take a 15% commission per month on this rent. For a room at €500, this corresponds to €75, meaning the host receives €425 in rent per month.

  • The young person pays €500 + €38, which is €538.

Example for other cities:

For a room listed at €500 on our website:

  • We take 50% commission from each side, for the first month only: the host therefore receives €250 net (then €500 the other months) and the guest pays €750 the first month, or €500 + 50% (then €500 the following months).

Why is there a difference between the amount indicated on the contract and the amount I pay?

The amount indicated on the contract is the so-called net commission price, which is the amount received by the host."
