The financial contribution and Colette's commission are paid through the payment service provider Stripe. Colette thus incurs fees on payments via Stripe made by tenants when booking a room.
👨🏼🦳 Cases where a refund must be made to a host:
Cancellation -30 days before the move-in date by the tenant
Process: Colette will propose other profiles in search, who ideally could move in on the originally scheduled date. The host will be refunded the amount corresponding to the "lost" days, up to one month of lost rent. This amount is refunded directly to the host via transfer through Stripe. The tenant receives nothing.
Fees: No additional fees are due.
👩🏽 Cases where a refund must be made to the tenant:
Cancellation 30 days or more before the move-in date by the student
Process: the amount is refunded directly to the tenant through a refund via Stripe on the payment method used. This incurs a cancellation fee of €50.
Fees: Cancellation fee of €50 payable by the tenant.
Example:
→ I booked my room for 550 + 38 = 588€ → I cancel 40 days before moving in → I am refunded 550 - 50 + 38 = 538€
Cancellation 30 days or more before the move-in date by the host.
Process: the amount is refunded directly to the student through a refund via Stripe on the payment method used. This incurs a cancellation fee of €50.
Fees: Cancellation fee of €50 payable by the host.
Example:
→ I booked my room for 550 + 38 = 588€ → The host cancels 40 days before moving in → I am refunded 550 + 38 = 588€ → The host will have to cover the 50 euros
Cancellation less than 30 days before the move-in date by the host.
Process: The amount is refunded directly to the student through a refund via Stripe on the payment method used. This incurs a cancellation fee of €50.
Fees: Cancellation fee of €50 payable by the host on their subsequent payments.
Example:
→ I booked my room for 550 + 38 = 588€ → Host cancels 25 days before moving in → I am refunded 550 - 50 + 38 = 588€ → The host will have to cover the 50 euros
Cancellation for force majeure less than 30 days before the move-in date
Process: As an exception, a refund of the rent to the student or the host may be made, for the force majeure cases listed below. A cancellation fee of €50 will be retained to cover bank charges.
Fees: Payable by the host or the student.
Force majeure cases justifying a refund:
Death, Serious illness, Military operations and other conflicts, Natural disasters or unforeseeable or irresistible external events.
